Naturalization & Citizenship
Naturalization
Applying for naturalization and becoming a U.S. citizen can give you peace of mind to travel without worry, participate and voice your vote in an American election, and petition your loved ones to join you in the U.S. I am ready to walk with you on these last steps of your immigration journey.

Citizenship
Children born abroad can apply for citizenship because their parents are U.S. born citizens or naturalized later on in life. Family Based Residency
Family Petition
Filing a family petition, USCIS Form I-130, is the first step towards permanent residency. Through the family petition, USCIS will ensure that the Petitioner has an existing relationship with the Beneficiary who wants to become a permanent resident. Adjustment of Status
The adjustment of status (AOS) process is the second step towards permanent residency if you last legally entered the U.S. The AOS application may be filed at the same time as the family petition or as a stand alone application once the petition is approved. Consular Processing
Consular processing is the second step towards permanent residency if you either live outside the U.S. or live here, but your last entry was unlawful. Once you have completed the first step of an approved family petition and a visa is available based on your family preference category, the National Visa Center (NVC) will invite you to begin this process and later interview in your home country. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you and show Immigration that you are self sufficient to be a permanent resident.

Removal of Conditions on Residence
Conditional residency is granted to those applicants whose residency status is based on a marriage less than 2 years. USCIS requires conditional residents to apply and remove conditions no more than 90 days before their 2 year resident card expires. Waivers
Immigration waivers forgive certain immigration violations or crimes on your record that are preventing you from successfully completing your residency case. Some of the most common immigration violations for why you may need a waiver are: unlawful presence, criminal records, smuggling, or lying to Immigration to get a visa or entry into the U.S. I will partner with you to ensure that your family remains unified in the U.S.

Renew or Replace Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

245(i) Adjustment of Status
245(i) Adjustment of status allows some people who are generally disqualified from applying for residency to become residents if a family member or employer filed an initial petition for you or your parents before April 30, 2001. This type of adjustment allows those applicants who entered unlawfully, fell out of lawful status, or ever worked without authorization, to apply and complete the process for permanent residence in the U.S. by paying a $1,000 penalty. I will partner with you to bring closure to a petition that may have been filed on your behalf more than 20 years ago.

DACA & TPS
DACA
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) allows certain undocumented immigrants who entered the country as minors, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and a work permit. I support the Dreamer community and will work to ensure to maintain your DACA status.

TPS
Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is a temporary immigration status to the U.S., and granted to eligible nationals of designated countries such as El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. As TPS is temporary, recipients are required to renew their status and work permit card. I understand that it may be dangerous to return home and will partner with you to remain safely here in the U.S.

Crime Victim Visas
VAWA Status
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) provides relief to certain immigrants that are victims of domestic violence and they may "self-petition" for legal status and a work permit card without the knowledge or consent of their abuser. VAWA status does offer a pathway towards permanent residency through the adjustment of status process. U Visa Status
U Nonimmigrant Status (U Visa) provides immigration protection to victims of certain types of crimes such as Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Rape, Prostitution, Trafficking, Kidnapping, Extortion, Felonious Assault, and among others. A qualifying applicant may also apply for U Visa status for certain family members as derivatives. U Visa Adjustment

Work, Travel, and Reentry Permits
Work Permit Card
A work permit card, officially known as an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card, provides temporary employment authorization to noncitizens in the U.S. Those noncitizens eligible to apply are pending or approved asylees, admitted refugees, pending adjustment applicants, approved DACA or TPS recipients, certain parolees, or deferred action status such as VAWA or U Visa. I will partner with you to obtain an EAD card to financially provide for your family.

Travel Document
A travel document, also known as Advance Parole, is permission for certain immigrants, who do not have a valid immigrant visa, to re-enter the U.S. after traveling abroad. Those eligible to apply are applicants with a pending adjustment of status application, DACA or TPS recipients, granted LIFE Act Family Unity Program benefits, and others. I will work with you to obtain a travel document so that you may return to your home country and visit your family and loved ones.

Reentry Permit
A reentry permit is used by permanent residents who plan to travel outside the U.S. for more than 1 year, but less than 2 years. These permits are important to obtain to show Immigration that you have not abandoned your resident status because you needed to remain outside the U.S. for work, travel, school, or illness. I will work with you to ensure you can be outside the U.S. and focus on your life without worry.
